All terms are being used within the Wing Tsun Kung Fu school/organization/family, during training and outside of the classes as well. Those terms do not relate to your actual biological age, rather than to the time span since one has joined the Wing Tsun Kung Fu School/Organization.
For example, the title Si-Hing (older kung fu brother) is used when addressing a trainer who is not your Si-Fu. All terms listed are in direct lineage. Your Si-Fu is written with a dash. Another Sifu is i.e. Sifu Bob. The use of those terms is not a religious act but an asian tradition showing acknowledgement and gratefulness to the fact that Wing Tsun was being taught over the centuries on a individual basis within a family-like structure. |
